I shed a tear..

This whole week has been rather suay.. First I got a fucked up grade for my GEM (Raw grade C+), then my sister got an eye infection, then I almost lost my pencilbox, then my sister's boyfriend together with herself, they are now both kind of addicted to GB also. Worst of all, my grandfather was hospitalised due to some complications with his liver.( No he is not a heavy drinker....)

He's been in hospital since Monday and on Wednesday it turned out that his condition had improved and according to my sister, he was able to talk normally. However, there was some pus in his lungs and the doctor had to extract out that "abcess" or whatever thing. Thing his, my grandfather also had several other complications such as low platelet count as well as low blood pressure. I think I'm the only one reading this blog who hasn't taken biology before so all of you should know that platelets form the critical component in blood that induces clotting. So now our doctor gives him some drugs to help increase the blood pressure but this morning, evidently his body was responding negatively to the drugs administered so his heartbeat fluctuated and at a point of time, it stopped working for 15 minutes. (1st canteen break in 85 years..) Well even if you don't have biology background, typical channel 8 serials will tell you that it will cause "irrepairable brain damage".

I rushed down to hospital together with my sis and find that the doctor is now trying to 抢救 my ah kong. He comes out around 15 to 20 minutes later and explains to us very gently that it doesn't look too good and we should be prepared. Then I go in to see him alone because the doctor would only allow one of us at a time and my poor ah kong was lying motionless on the bed, with a nurse beside him and probably one of those apprentice doctors. The poor lad (apprentice doctor) was manually pumping oxygen down my ah kong's windpipe so it wasn't exactly a pretty sight. It was pretty sad because my ah kong has always been quite healthy until recent years with bladder problems, to see him unconscious with tubes down his throat and all that was certainly depressing at the very least. At that point of time I think my poor ah kong was probably brain dead already :( but anyway, I just told him that we're all grown up, we will take care of ourselves and basically, asked him not to worry and go in peace..

Driving back to school, (I had a Maths test at 4pm .. ) so coincidental that the Sandy Lam's CD had finished playing after I turned out of the carpark. Next CD was Jacky Cheung 张学友 and 1st track was the super sad 心如刀割. All this while the tears havent drop down yet but when I was on AYE I think I also cannot take it liao so a single tear rolled down along with 张学友的“不后悔”.

Although I'm not very very very close to my ah kong but he's my only ah kong left since my dad's father was gone before my dad could walk on his own. So I never saw him anyway... well at least my ah kong had quite a good life, no painful cancer, stroke, liver cirrhosis or weird diseases to plague his life. It would be hard to beat his record, 85 years hehe..

Anyway the Maths test was damned zer, I walked into LT24 then noticed all the chinamen there. Zzzz then the tutor flashed the transparency, that LT24 is for first 3 tutorial groups and I'm in the 4th so.. wah lau have to run to LT32 which is quite far away... and I mean RUN.. really ran like crap and managed to get there in time. Think should be able to pass the test but I left 1 question unfinished and another small part blank :(

After the test I borrowed TCS's phone to call my sis to find out that ah kong passed away shortly after I left. Sigh, perhaps if he stayed on and struggled it would have just been pure misery for him so... well it was quite expected anyway. Rest in peace ba ah kong :)

So much for a day, and I have to help out tomorrow... Thursday GEM test (Must get A+) and then Physics 1143 test is looming near(Dua zong). And she will NOT be free till the END of the SEMESTER. Yay... I'll vent it out on the books instead. Tennis anyone?

To celebrate such pathetic grades for my GEM CA test, I will release the secret "quadratic solving" function of casio's fx-570s calculator.

Step 1.. switch it on of course..
2. Select mode until it goes until ENG
3. This is the really fun part. SIMULTANEOUSLY press MODE, 5, 6 buttons down.
4. If successful, you will see a screen with 1, 2, 3. If i'm not wrong, 2 is for polynomial of degree 2. Which is the most common anyway :)
5. a = Coefficient of the x squared term. b = coefficient of x term. c = constant term.
6. Press equal to find the respective values of x!!!! (*GASP*)
7. Press mode, then 1 to go back to your normal calculator mode.

Way to fold clothes, that is. I don't know how many of you checked out that link but well, ever since I saw that video, I've been folding my T-shirts just for the fun of it to be honest. It doesn't need 7 seconds, it needs maybe 2 or 3 seconds only. Super duper ultra efficient, perhaps I can be considered for those sales assistant at Giordano or Hangten outlets.

Jeff Chang or 张信哲 .. he has this song called 用情. Starting of the song got a very "haunting" or actually its just a nostalgic short clip of an old song which I have no idea of. It goes.. I will dedicate this song to all those people who have ever suffered the fate of getting shit grades when you put in a lot of effort, kena rejected by girls even though you like her a lot and did many nice things for her. Basically, all those people who are shortchanged by the One. Hahaha!

Maths test is around the corner so today I am staying back in school to mug. Amazingly I finished the tutorial fas enough although I'm quite sure the answers are all gonna be wrong, save the theory questions and the proving ones. Now I'm doing the Econs tutorial and the best thing is, I only brought my Maths notes and I don't really have anything to practise on. Maybe I'll finish up the tutorial which I have already gone through today. ZzzzZ back to the books.

Interesting observations

From 1996, my trusty Casio fx-570s calculator has been with me and haivng spent so many years with it I can say that it has a certain sentimental value. For the first time, I witnessed the calculator automatically shutting down its power. No, its not that there isn't any more battery life, its a function of the battery. Its quite amazing really considering the number of years I have spent with this calculator. Only today did I witness this "spectacular, amazing" act of "nature" or rather, electrical engineering. :)

I will be camping in Science library from now on! This is a bold statement but because I have posted it online I will be expected to follow this statement. Hence, I must camp in Science library from now onwards save Saturday and Sundays. Longest days in library will be Monday and Wednesday. I should be found on 6th level (turn left from the stairs and find the far corners..)

From last semester's experience, this would be a good time to start mugging at a comfortable rate. I mean even if you sleep half a day and finish 1 tutorial its still constructive in the end haha. So I urge all my dear friends to join me hehe. Ok, tomorrow got Physics test so I will go and mug some more now even though I am pretty sick of Physics. Bye!

Chaotic thoughts..

Agony..

I have just been appointed "Uncle Agony" by a friend whose name I cannot disclose. Haha suckers! Seems like he/she/it is quite troubled I hope he/she/it will pull through fine!

Today I think I have accomplished quite a lot although some things I must really try to better myself such as discipline in timing aka punctuality. I was supposed to meet the Nanhua guys for soccer at 9:30am for soccer but at 8:17am my close friend Nick called me to say he wasn't feeling well so he wouldn't be going. This greatly disrupted my sleep and now I had 13 minutes left to sleep which was like .. not here nor there. Anyway I dozed off soon enough and woke up at 9:54am which means I was gonna be late for most probably more than an hour. I changed and washed up and was late just over an hour.

After a super shag session of soccer, I went to the nearby hawker center to eat, its at West Coast and is one of the hawker centers I know of that serves quite a lot of Muslim food, meaning a lot of Muslim food stalls. Enz ordered chicken rice, he is obviously unaware or bochup regarding the avian flu thingy. Then again I seldom eat chicken rice because its not really that gratifying or what I would prefer a bowl of NOOOODLES anytime. Hehe preferably prawn?

On the way to soccer I did some reading on the bus ride to Clementi. Not bad, I covered the whole hapter on demand & supply so I was quite pleased with myself. I also found out that the textbook is like 1 million times more comprehensible than our Econs lectures especially with that Flowery lecturer. (His name is Boon Nga which means flower in Malay. He told us that.. lamer!) So on the way back I also continued and I think once you have read the textbook for Econs it would seem like that notes taken down during lectures seem to disintegrate into rubbish paper. Maybe they should use it for this year's RAG.. (Papier mache?)

After I reached home, I almost drifted to sleep after my shower but somehow I got up and played 1 round of GB. After that I proceeded to whack PC1144 tutorial which was initially tough but I soon got the hang of it. Note that this mugging is sprinkled with occasional GB games whenever I am stuck. Hence it takes quite a lot of time to complete a tutorial. After I finished the tutorial it was about evening time already then I continued whacking. This time its MA1505C, super tough integration but some of them I could solve so I was quite pleased with myself too.

At this point of time I have finished my tutorials, played an hour of GB and I'm ready to sleep and play Uncle Agony tomorrow. When it comes to sensitive minds I bet I'm around one of the people with highest sensitivity. So yeah its only $15/hour so come find me if you are troubled. Here's 2 FREE advice for all troubled souls out there. "Drink more water, and have 7 hours of sleep" Haha.. cheers

Mathematics, Gunbound and Valentine's day

The thing about Mathematics is that when you know how to solve the damned problem, it can be so gratifying.. especially if its like you spent pages and pages of rough paper doing some super duper ultra tedious calculations on it. Its quite fun when you see that you get the correct results and you go "Eureka" out loud in your room at 3am.

Valentine's day, everyone's talking about it, most people got to enjoy it, some people didn't, a few of them worked, a few of them slacked, and I was one of those mugging at home, breaking every 2 hours with Gunbound. What a boring day.. I even turned down a lunch meeting with SY (I am so evil so sue me) because I was hungry, couldn't be bothered to travel so far to meet her or drive although i could technically use the car. Hmnn maybe its because 男人不该对女人太好。。so I decided to turn her down hehe.

Today's gunbound was quite fun, I found out that my avatar has got quite(very, immensely, enormously) high damage attributes. Meaning, I deal a lot of damage to opponents if I hit them correctly. My avatar has a Samurai hair-cut (think Bob in The Last Samurai, sorry Ivan), has a Samurai suit (think Katsumoto in his admin attire), and has a nice, cute, not to mention patriotic Singapore flag. Oh yeah I have a small cross scar across my avatar's face haha its quite cute.

Deja vu..

I had lunch at Zhenghua before I went to school, a late lunch in fact. Around 3:15pm I reached there, parked illegally for the nth time then proceeded to order wantan noodles. Before that I saw one of the younger "oba-sans" from the hair salon walk out from the back door and pick up the rack hanging all the towels because the rack had somehow crashed to the floor. Heavy wind I guess. She looked a lot like her. Nevermind about that.

After a super boring 1.5 hours of Maths I then went home. Just as I was about to hit home sweet home my mother called me to say they were going out and I had to settle my own dinner. Damned, so I went back to Zhenghua and now I parked illegally for the (n+1)th time then ordered yi-mian aka Ekin Cheng noodles.

I nearly got the shock of my life when I thought I saw her appear right before me. Gahh!! Deja vu! Its the young "oba-san" again! Apparently she had just knocked off from work and was also ordering some stuff from the same stall to take away. Upon further examination, she has roughly the same hairstlye, same shoulder bag(how different can they get), same dark blue Levi's jeans, and even the shoes are the same, Adidas..

My god..

Tomorrow is February 14th Valentine's day or the politically correct Friendship day. So basically there is nothing new this year (surprise surprise ... doh!) Actually there will be, I will be mugging really hard tomorrow because there are 2 tests next week. Hey dear friends, I will be staying late in school on Monday, Wednesday next week. So if you wanna mug want to do it togethere? Monday I will be whacking the books from 1pm onwards. Wednesday from 11pm onwards.

Sad case..
Her: I got a super tough/impt/hard/difficult test on Monday. I probably won't be going out at all. Furthermore it is not a day for friends.

Oh well nevermind, I guess I'll have to retreat to my hole and wait for the theory of "women are attention-seeking whores" to work again. *Refer to dunno which post, lost in archives* (Disclaimer: its not my theory, and not all women are attention-seeking whores..)

Recently PhySoc(Physics Society) is organising lots of activities that I don't think is even remotely fun? Lab visits? Ever wondered what do they do inside the blah de blah de blah lab? wow... they probably accelerate electrons round and round and try to think how to win a nobel prize? I seriously have no idea why laboratory visits would excite me. They might excite others but to me its really damned boring. I wouldn't mind going back to NUH's department of clinical chemistry. Can see the blood of patients being accelerated in the.. what do you call that? A centrifuge? Yeah..

Then the RBC will be separated from the plasma then you suck out the plasma and conduct those tests for sodium, calcium, actually quite fun and relevant to what I studied in JC. Too bad I didn't take biology then, in fact its kind of regrettable to me that I haven't took biology in my life before. I'm sure there are certain aspects that will interest me more than say, counting oscillations and looking at the coma-inducing pendulums swinging.

Recently I've become more and more .. handy at calculus. Its really amazing when me and Ong WK mugged in library from 1pm till 5pm. The last question of the tutorial was more of an integration challenge than understanding in physics. Nearly vomitted out some blood/white foam after finishing the super duper ultra tedious question with some help along the way from ONG WK of course. 2 clueless fools struggling to meet the 5pm deadline for tutorial submission are now probably the only ones who got it right besides the China scholars hehe.

I would like to dedicate Christina Aguilera's Beautiful to myself but since I think she looks like a .. freak? I shall cancel that and dedicate Linkin' Park's In The End (aka WWM favourite song) to myself. As WWM said, 被爱是幸福的。。。

After having blogged for such a long time I realise I don't really have much to blog about except unusual activities and happenings that I happen to see, pass by, or get myself involved in.

Hmnn maybe its that what Ian said a long time ago, blogging isn't about what you did today, its about what you feel. If you log down what you did everyday that would be more like a journal. What say me? I say he's not totally correct anyway..
Feel? Feel about what? Let me see? Avian flu? American Idol? Survivor? William Hung? Politics? Think its a bit pointless to talk about such meaningless stuff anymore it just bores the hell out of me. And I really resent people making fun out of a perfectly wonderful dreamer like William Hung. He is so much better than many of the pathetic people who went for the auditions..

Basically I think now blogging for me will be more difficult now that everything bores the hell out of me. School's boring, homework's boring, going to home, driving, squeezing on the 963 bus w/o the BB is boring..

Tay Boon Nga was brilliantly boring, incoherent and taught at about the speed of light today. Which induced me into a coma when I went home, I think about what he had taught today and perhaps I understood at most 50% of what he's blabbering all the time. I think he has a very thin tongue like that of dogs or other animals which makes his speech incoherent. He'd be better off teaching economics using sign language in my opinion.

He has the ability to press the page down button at breakneck speed, not caring as to whether students have even seen what's on the slide. I really dislike this lecturer but I guess there's nothing I can do about it but to catch up on my own. Which of course is a pretty hard job.

This Saturday I'm going for 心情溶剂 which is a National Chinese songwriting competition. She's going too but with her own friends :( Well heard that 光良 is coming to perform for 30 minutes give or take. hope its gonna be good but before that I must survive tomorrow's lab and Friday's super boring and pathetically late timing Maths lecture. Zzz

Read on the news that Janet Jackson somehow got her boob exposed live on Superbowl. Superbowl which is the single event which sparks off a 30% increase in consumption of electrical energy in the USA alone. I wonder how many US kids saw her.. boob haha. What's wrong with her man.. she is obviously so jealous of the attention her poor brother is getting!

Part 2..

After the Physics lecture we proceeded towards Science canteen for lunch. I joined the guys just for a drink cos I gotta run for my GEM lecture. Well well, saw the BB again (Bootylicious babe) she shall be named BB now. She's eating at the seat where there are umbrellas, meaning the "outdoor seats". And yes she looks as hot as ever haha!

Nvm about her I just made a point to mention her in my blog. After my milo (courtesy of milo truck) I went off for lecture then on the way bumped into TCS and Enz. Took A2?A1? Think its A1 to engin then bumped into Jeffrey. After contemplating to skip lecture for McDonald's.. I decided not to in the end, then met up with GX for the boring lecture. After that I went for Maths lecture at Science where there's yet another doll. I call her doll because.. her face is like a carbon copy of those soft toy.. big eyes fair complexion and dimples.. And she might have the biggest pair of.. ya noe? in the whole LT. Haha.. besides the eyes lah still got a pair of something. *Gulp*

Yeah these are the stupid little stuff that keeps me awake during lectures as usual. If not I'll be dead watching Prof Yap doing third derivatives and integrals and god knows what else. I'm getting quite lost in the Maths, getting tougher and tougher. Now all the mid term tests are coming up if there's a time to mug, its now.

She takes 963 to school from Bkt Batok to NUS on Tuesday mornings 10am. Haha I am such a stalker.

On the way to school today, I walked past Assumption English School(AES). Could clearly hear the sounds coming out from the technical workshop which kind of brought back lots of memories for me, being a Design & Technology student for 4 years. (Although I got a D7 for it in the 'O' levels)

Now after the economics tutorial I have had my lunch which was a plate of nasty .. cha shao mian. Courtesy of Science canteen of course. I'm in the library now and after I finish this blog I shall play gunbound till its time for my 12pm Physics lecture. Zzzz which of course I won't be really able to concentrate. Hope so anyway cos' now its quantum physics and not so much on the time dilation, length contraction, Einstein/Lorentz' equations blah blah blah ...

I also saw a JC mate at the bus stop today, Mingzhu.. then saw Youxiang busy chatting with some cai3 at canteen also. And yesterday Xinzhan saw.. the notorious 2625!!!! GAHH!!!

Alright I"m typing this in between mouthfuls of piping hot curry chicken and instant noodles with a half boiled egg with a Sprite to go. Yum!

I also don't know whether I'm actually hungry or not its just that I walked into the kitchen and I couldn't resist opening up the pot to see what was inside... Bingo! Curry chicken! Then I went on to cook the noodles to go with the chicken. Haha!

I have since glanced through my 3 tutorials, Physics, Maths and Economics respectively. I have also decided that I will finish the econs tutorial and the other 2.. I'm dead! I have no idea how to do even 1 question for the Maths tutorial. For the Physics maybe 2/5 at best. Must be due to the shagness induced from the KTV session just now with army friends.

I have now succeeded in convincing Dr Lee to watch Naruto. Haha I think I am so evil hope he won't be super addicted or what... Must be due to the fact that while waiting for the latecomers for the KTV session I talked a lot of cock with him. Then having watched the Last Samurai I think he now has an idea what Naruto's about albeit in the slightest manner only.
Had quite a great time today except for the fact that most of the guys were late including me haha! Sang to my heart's content especially the 2 Bryan McKnight songs. My personal favourites of course.. Well in the end we were just busily inserting songs to jump the queue so had to kick out the lower priority songs such as my Liang Jing Ru songs. :(
Well on the other I didn't want to bore the other guys to death with the exception of Dr. Lee with Liang Jing Ru songs so yeah ..

Ok very shag liao le.. I don't know why I have this image of Henry slurping instant noodles in bunk 2 at night after lights off timing, meaning.. eating instant noodles in the dark. Haha!
