Rage unleashed..

This is such a terrible time, tens of thousands are dead within hours just because of a single earthquake. Perhaps the 'coffeeshop theory' is right, that the almighty Allah has been disturbed by too many Islamic extremists, thwarting the religion so that he decided to show who's boss after all. (no offence meant to anyone)

That's just rubbish talk from the coffeeshop anyway. We should thank our lucky stars, suns and moons that we are shielded from the full impact of the tsunamis by Sumatra. Just watching CNN play and replay video footage of floating corpses, fleeing villagers, surging waters engulfing resorts.. one scene was particularly disturbing. It showed a poster saying "Merry Christmas and a happy new year 2005" in the background and in the foreground was an overturned SUV.

I've a lot of mixed feelings right now, this is so so so unfortunate to all the people affected. I was listening to 93.3FM and the DJ if I'm not wrong was Liyi. I don't mean to be rude but I thought she said a really.. dumb comment. She was saying that year-ends are unlucky and such.. with this happening just before the New Year and.. Anita Mui's death around this time last year.

Why on Earth is she comparing a fricking NATURAL DISASTER with the death of a famous celebrity? There are at least 18,000 people dead in Sri Lanka .. this shouldn't be compared to Anita Mui's death in the first place which I believe was from cancer or some chronic disease. (Co-incidentally, prima donna #1 was saying year-ends are very suay because SQ-006 accident occurred during this period of time too.. which makes 12903789057120938 times more sense!)

Its tough being a DJ when you don't think deep enough. (shallow?)

That's all for this post! Tired from work!

www.patchnow.net

Before you actually go to the above link out of curiosity, please read on.

I've just re-installed my desktop PC from scratch and I'm using MSN 7.0 which is a beta version. So I just got this popup box which looks terribly legitimate and tells me that I have a critical security vulnerability which I must patch immediately. The only exception is that you are using WinME.

Anyway I'm 99% sure that if you install the "security patches" from that site, your computer will surely be installed with a backdoor/keylogger/bug/worm/parasite/virus etc etc.

Searched for info about this site on google and yahoo already but so far nothing about it. Which brings me to conclude .. DON'T DOWNLOAD THE FILES THERE PLS!!!

Expected results..

Just as expected actually, you reap what you sow. I also don't know how to plan my modules from here on.. but I got 2 takeaways already.

Now I don't even know if I can finish the degree in 3 years.. next sem definitely 6 modules already. Thought of quitting school at times but that would degrade me to a mere A level holder which is useless if I want to find a decent job.
I'll keep thinking.. :(

Stupid day..

Had to work like mad today basically, drove from home to Beach road, to Katong, to Geylang, Geylang East, Bedok, Beach Roach, home, Katong, Beach Road, Marine Terrace and finally home.

Its a fricking wonder I don't fall asleep on the drive home.

Listened to the world's 2 greatest prima donnas talk about how they wax and polish their car in the coffeeshop, not exactly my choice though.

On reaching home, helped dad to mow the useless rooftop lawn, after I plucked out the weeds for about an hour.

And the day ended off even worse..

Magic water??

Hehe.. my elder sis and me just applied some SK-II shen qi shui on our faces. My face being a little dry from being in an air con environment 24/7 on Sultan Shoal, certainly needs to be pom pom pom-ed with some ... I don't know what derivatives of yeast they put inside the SK-II thingy.

So I searched the most 'buang' part of my face which wasn't dry and I just applied it there. Which I decided was my forehead since my cheeks are very dry and the shen qi shui seems to be alcohol based. So that will only dry the skin further I thought.
Maybe tomorrow I will wake up with a perfect forehead.

Tomorrow I'll be going car shopping! yahoo!

Response to feedback

Hi 'anonymous' if you are reading this then.. er carry on?

Hmm first of all I'm not a Christian, whether you assumed or did not assume I was one in the first place. :)

2nd, er.. sometimes I think that common beings like us are incapable of containing too much pressure and workload and stress, that kind of stuff inside of us. So maybe I was just letting off some steam in that case by swearing at nobody in particular. Anyway I don't think I caused any offence and I'm sure none was taken! :p

Oh and if anyone could enlighten me, what's is the 'quote/verse/content' of Phil 4:13?

Alright cheers to all Christians and non-Christians out there!

Woo!

Finally a bit of academic excellence???

Dear GE1101E students,

Your names were forwarded to me by A/P Henry Yeung as having the best GE1101E Human Geography projects for Semester 1 (2004/05). I will be teaching the same module in the second semester, and am also the lecturer advisor for NUS Geographical Society.

The society is hoping to compile the best projects from select modules, with the intention to publish select pieces in Geosphere (the society's annual magazine) and other outlets. The essays could also be read by future students interested in understanding more about human geography.

If you are willing to have your paper published, could you send us a soft copy of the written project (with references and visuals)? Please direct your email to myself and the Geog Soc President (Kelvin Leong) and Hon. Gen. Secretary (Li Min) both cc-ed in this email. If you require further clarifications, please contact me.

With best regards, enjoy your vacation!

omg, when I saw this photo I immediately recalled one of the lamest movies I ever watched, "ZOOLANDER". Oh yes.. this look is without a doubt.. "MAGNUM!" Posted by Hello

Sianz!

Humans are never contented.. like me for example. Its finally holidays but I have to work cos my poor dad is sick. He's been sick for 2 weeks already and I suspect he has been under constant siege from some weird unknown virus. That means I have to help him at work, or rather, REPLACE him at work.

FARRRRRRRRRRKKKKKKKKKKKK. Ok that felt a wee wee bit better. Holidays = work.

Oh and I've got a whole new list of things to do!
In no particular order..

1. Repair laptop.
2. Repair TV.
3. Buy new hard disk.
4. Buy 4D because I finally got my first parking summons ($6)
5. Get new motherboard if I strike tomorrow/Sat/Sunday's 4D.
6. Get new monitor for the PC upstairs if I strike 4D.
7. Do the jigsaw puzzle. (Finishing might blind me)
8. Get a DVD Rom if I strike 4D.
9. Change my passport photo.
10. Return the Japanese books to Nick.
11. Change my specs frames.

The list is non-exhaustive.. haha

Very true quote..

This is such a good quote and thankfully I read about this quote quite a long time ago, perhaps in secondary 2. I hope that by sharing it here, everyone can improve their lives and their relationships with all the people around them.

"How can you say to your brother, `Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye. " (Matthew 7:4-5)

I won't bother explaining this quote because its basically quite.. trivial for you guys to figure it out.

Quick break #4.

Just had to rant this off my mind.. zzz here's one of the most annoying MSN nicks I have ever seen..

..* 小さいゆみ Lord! Give me Jolin tickets! Hope i can tio! *

Hmm instead of praying that I get something, how about I pray that the Lord instead gives something to someone IN NEED instead. Huh.. fancy praying for some lottery or something, I really think its absurd.

No offence meant to anyone in this post, if you took any.. too bad.

quick break #3.

MM was a disaster of epic proportions.. so I'll leave it to .. Ah Bao to mark my script.. sigh..

Physically I feel a bit weak and I seem to be falling ill soon if I don't go for a run or something like that. Then again I really have no time to spare. Today was spent studying Geography the whole day... with quick breaks in between at most 1/2 hour I suppose.

Read on the papers a touching article, apparently Robinson's group kept a cancer stricken lady on their payroll and paid for her medical expenses for 7 years, right till she passed away. Just wondering how many employers are willing to do that much for an employee nowadays.

Oh well, its heartwarming news in this age of ..cold blooded killing, suicide bombings and senseless violence.

quick break part 2..

Here's a link to the full sized wallpaper of the car.. in all senses, it is quite a stunning car.

You should be able to see the xenon headlights already (that blue-cyan colour) which are claimed to reduce glare to oncoming motorists. TP however does not allow xenon headlights to be fitted onto local cars unless they are factory fitted, meaning they come with the stock cars. (Evidently if you mount the xenon lights wrongly it will cause not just more glare, its fricking like staring in the sun when you look at your rear mirror etc.. Hehe.. reminds me of that nice song by U2)

Oh where was I? Hehe.. dream cars don't cost cheap lah its price is quoted at $418,888 only. What most people learn in a lifetime probably.. -_-"
Anyway AMG is like the sporting arm of Mercedes Benzand they are kind of 'highly regarded' in a way. Each engine that has been constructed by AMG will be signed by the engineer in charge as a 'sign of quality workmanship etc etc.'

Quick facts about the Mercedes Benz E55 AMG..

Engine layout: V8, 5439 cc (your road tax $$ fuel $$ fly away...)

Maximum power: 476 hp/bhp (for some reason bhp= braking horsepower..)

Maximum torque: 700 Nm (if i remember correctly, avail. from 2000 rpm onwards, so if traffic jam you accidentally tapped the accelerator... -_-")

Top speed: 250km/h (most mortals won't need to go anywhere near that..)

Century sprint (0-100km/h): 4.7 seconds (Faster than Impreza WRX STi & Evo VII/VIII.. no more fears of silly ah bengs/crazy taxi drivers.. lol!)

All of this which means.. its a supercar for the even richer than rich ah peks.. haha but its ok to have dreams what.. since its a dream might as well dream big!
Hohoho.. back to reality.. PC2174.. the module taught by the 1/2 million research grant lecturer.. basket!

ZZzz..taking a break..

Just saw a nice cute picture on Zhihao's blog. (Zeus' Garden, its linked)
Its a Garfield comic strip that shows Garfield and Odie taking a break.
Here comes the funny part,..
Garfield "These breaks are getting so long we need breaks in our break."

Haha.. couldn't help laughing a bit at that silly comic strip.

Oh I just heard that Olinda has been voted out or rather Sylvester has been voted in. Which just goes to show how talent-blind SGreans are or how rich SG ah lians and ah bengs are? I can only imagine the immense amount of disappointment that Olinda feels right now.

Er.. anyway if Sylvester somehow wins SG idol, I'm sure almost nobody except his kee siao fans will endorse him as a Singapore idol..
*shudders at his rendition of Music of the night*

Oh well I guess the Singapore idol should be clear by now its gotta be Taufik since the only other true talent has somehow been out-voted. Oh well, weird huh now that its the exams, or rather whenever the exam period arrives, all the tv shows, all the games, all the blogs seem more interesting to watch to play and to read. Damned.. at this rate I'm.. er.. the printout on my wall says "Never talk to yourself negatively" so I'm gonna shut up and continue on my Legendre's equation and God knows what else..

woohoo.. this is a nice candidate for my dream car? :p  Posted by Hello

Electronics..

Since a few weeks ago, the electronics in my house or rather in my possession started to chee-ba-boom (terbaboom).

Fricking peeved right now, number 1 casualty is dear laptop which in my opinion is quite a good laptop, the Fujitsu S6210 or something like that. The heat it generates also helps to keep the said user warm in the lab.

Number 2 was the relatively new television set (Toshiba). Apparently one fine day, J switched off the Air-con(which LEAKS water.. thank god not mercury) and somehow the TV switched itself off as well! We repeated this experiment a couple of times and it was rather successful, yielding the same results time after time. However, the TV kind of got reset and all the channels were lost. That's ok until I discovered that there is NO SOUND at all. So that's number 2..

Number 3 is my table lamp. After serving me for.. 2004-1995 = 9 years, it decided to take a break NOW. Thanks man, now is my exam period and you have to 'pichiak' now. I think a trip down to IKEA is inevitable.. waste of my time.

Number 4 just happened, its my hi-fi. It cannot read CDs and can only play radio.. wtf! Thankfully after some tinkering and kicking it has resumed serving its master faithfully!

Number 5 is not really electronics but its the bloody house. For those who have come to my house before.. you might understand better. The thing is I never approved of buying this house in the first place. Now? Bloody shoddy workmanship, my door cannot be closed because the door frame somehow shrinks, or my door expands, or both happens. This is incredibly evident during rainy days which is like now. Better still, there's a pipe that goes vertically through the kitchen and it leaks. So now the kitchen floor is wet with rainwater which I assume has mixed about with some beautiful green fungi in the fricking pipe.

I can almost predict a number 6, Scooby giving up on me on a rainy day. So I shall really look out for myself these few days! BFSW claims that its because I was racist but hey.. (the last time she suffered an electronics catastrophe was because of the same thing too) I don't think so. Only Number 4 and the water leakage has occured after I put 'that nick' on my MSN.. hehehe

Oh well after reading my buddy Fruchee's blog I think its impossible not to have racism with such people existing on the face of planet Earth. If that caucasian.. ah fark it.. if that ANG MOR talked to me like that in the lab, I'd make sure he swallowed some radioactive radium for lunch. That pretty well expresses my view on buddy's blog, that guy is a total imbecile. He probably has .."mierda" for brains!

Workloads.. zzz

The culmination of poor time management = ..

1. Presentation on Friday.
2. Long report for electronics.
3. Short summary (which can't be short anyway) on mechanics.
4. Viva for my x-ray experiment.
5. Exams..

Can be done lah.. I mean.. must be done!! Wargh!!!!!

A response to Henry's post.. haha.

What do you think of NUS being ranked 18th among the world's top 200 universities?

This was taken from a Yahoo! poll... you can see it on yahoo.com.sg if you want to.. haha!

I always knew our universities were world-class - 21%

I'm surprised but am very pleased - 26%

Makes me wonder what the ranking criteria were - 51%

There you go.. haha... well it wouldn't be tough to guess which option I voted for anyway..

amazing stuff...

SINGAPORE: The Traffic Police and enforcement officers from the Land Transport Authority caught more than 260 errant motorists on Saturday night and early Sunday morning after a 5-hour operation.
The 267 motorists were nabbed for traffic offences like speeding, drunk driving and illegal modification.

The operation was conducted along areas such as Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3, Woodlands Avenue 7, Clemenceau Avenue, Paya Lebar Road, AYE and BKE.

143 motorists were caught exceeding the speed limit and 13 were arrested for drunk driving.

Another 77 motorists were booked for illegal modification offences.

During this operation, the Traffic Police also gave out letters of appreciation, road safety advice and goodie bags to motorists.
For the first half of this year, the Traffic Police issued 32,000 summonses for speeding and driving while talking on a mobile phone.

This is an almost 37% increase compared to the same period last year.

The number of motorists arrested for drink driving in the first half of this year is up 26%.

However, the number of fatal accidents and serious accidents were down, about 7% compared to the same period last year. - CNA

Huh wtf? goodie bags? hahaha

I dislike noisy people..

Being a relatively quiet person, or maybe I only talk more crap in the right group of friends.. I really really really really dislike (read: hate) noisy people.

Take Singapore Idol for instance.
I mean no offence but the contestants' fans are really pissing me off. Whenever a contestant finishes a song, they cheer (read: SCREECH) at the top of their lungs. I swear I cringed at least 3 times when I watched the show today. Thanks to the hordes of adolescent girls screaming and cheering for their respective idols.
Whenever the judges pass a bad comment, the fans start booing. Ugh.. I really don't like that because its like you're disrespecting other people's opinions outrightly.
I honestly also don't quite understand the craze about Singapore Idol, especially when I saw the idols go for meet-the-fans sessions. One particularly disturbing image was of this girl, she was crying for LORD'S SAKE and started blabbering something about how much she loves Sylvester Sim.

I don't know if I'm jealous or not (craving the attention of crying, teenage pre-pubescent girls??) but the last time I saw these images of crying girls was somewhere during the 1990s when they filmed a documentary on Michael Jackson's life. Michael Jackson vs Singapore Idols.. hmmm

Ok lah like my relative once commented on her daughter vis-a-vis our relatively rebellious cousin: At least she got idol what..(her idol was the Taiwanese boyband Energy), unlike XXX, no idol to look up to now look what he has become?

Listening to: Fans STILL SCREAMING cos my mother is watching the videotaped SG Idol, did I mention my sister watched it also before my mother came back? Fans screaming X3.. ok Gurmit just told the crowd to SCREAM.. FUCKER!

Really look like some refugee.. don't you think? Posted by Hello

This will be the ransom if our 'kidnap' is successful! I seem to remember kidnapping is punishable by death in SG? Posted by Hello

Burning diodes..

Hehe.. I was doing an experiment and after much calculations somehow, from the equation given, I have calculated that the temperature of a diode when I was using it was a grand...

479099 Kelvins only.. well if you convert it to degrees Centigrade/Celcius then its 479099 + 273 degrees. Obviously something is wrong with my calculation or the equation is assuming some stuff that I don't know..

479099K.. maybe the Sun's corona lah .. diode.. siao ... my lab would have melted..

Japanese workaholics..

This post might be a bit retro but well.. I managed to find this interesting bit while doing some research for my LSM1302 (Genes and Society) essay.

Those affected by the sarin experienced (short- and long-term symptoms) (incomplete list):

.bleeding from the nose and mouth
.coma
.convulsions
.difficulty breathing
.disturbed sleep and nightmares
.extreme sensitivity to light
.foaming at the mouth
.high fevers
.influenza-like symptoms
.loss of consciousness
.loss of memory
.nausea and vomiting
.paralysis
.post-traumatic stress disorder
.respiratory problems
.seizures
.uncontrollable trembling
.vision problems, both temporary and permanent

Witnesses have said that subway entrances resembled battlefields. In many cases, the injured simply lay on the ground, many unable to breathe. Incredibly, several of those affected by sarin went to work in spite of their symptoms. Most of these left and sought medical treatment as the symptoms worsened.

Give me a reason...

The following error message always pops out when the motherboard decides that it hates my USB mouse.

"One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. For assistance to this problem, click this message."

I always proceed to click it but wait.. if the mouse has malfunctioned how the f- am I supposed to click it? Bah!!!!

Oh yeah..

In other news..
Arsenal drew with Southampton, only thanks to a last minute goal by van Persie... some young lad from Holland I presume.

Oh and not surprisingly, Manchester United lost to small fry again! They have a tendency to pia like mad against big, powerful teams but against "free frags" they always get draws or even losses. Totally pathetic.. what can I say about the modern Manchester United team? ZzZ back to LSM1302 essay..

zzz -.-

Are you dumb?

Youxiang commented that this was the first flash that actually made him laugh. Btw, he's my JC classmate and he's taking Chemistry in NUS now. Last I heard he was whacking out 3 or 4 lab reports due the next day. zzz -.-

Happy Halloween to whoever's reading.. may you guys strike 4D and Toto and then treat me to dinner!

To Dr Lee: Eh Langkawi is an island lei.. isn't it? By coach to Langkawi is possible if..
a) Your coach can swim like the BX or ATTC.
b) There's some sort of super bridge connecting Pulau Langkawi to the mainland.
c) The ferry to Langkawi costs another 2 or 3 hundred dollars. Which will be same as air fare. Haha.. ok lah you better find out more!

Sincere condolences to the family and relatives of Huang Na.. :(

加油!!

Today I complained to ZF then I might not be able to finish up my experiments and lab reports. He gave me, in a most serious tone the above 2 words.. 加油。。
So yeah I'm here to list down all the stuff I have to do!

1. Study for QM test.
2. Complete LSM1302 online assessment.
3. Complete my last short summary and the intimidating long report for PC2193.
4. Hand in LSM1302 essay by 5th November.
5. Get ready PC2193 presentation by November 8th/9th.
6. Rescueing PC2174 and everything else.
7. The greatest kidnap of all time.

And for those who are relatively free (Nobody except Dr.Lee perhaps..)

Health & Fitness

Went jogging with PC on Sunday. He came over at around 9:30 and I somehow managed to drag my weary body with my soul to life. I can't believe I actually made it outside of my house without falling.. haha!

Anyway, we started off jogging towards Chestnut Avenue and the weather was really cool even at 9:45 approximately. Ran past the house with the Ferarri 360 Modena, ran down to the new road which has yet to be completed, explored it further and found that the road led to a mountain bike trail. Incredible.. didn't know such a place existed in Singapore, and right in my neighbourhood somemore!

Ran past the park and further down.. A PICNIC SPOT! What the... PICNIC?? Oh well, nice for the picnic-ers because its overlooking the beautiful, windy, windy, twisty-turny coastline. Ah.. dream on its the fricking BKE... a bit "duh" in my opinion.. enjoy your picnic and watch cars fly by at 80km/h. Wonderful..

Wah..

Noteworthy news? Manchester United 2 - 0 Arsenal.

Amazing stuff, Arsenal's incredible 49 match unbeaten run has finally been ended by their "top rival" I suppose. Although Man Utd is I don't know how many donkey points behind Arsenal (think its 8), I think Arsenal would be totally sian 1/2 to lose to Man Utd and especially Man Utd.

Well and I think Wayne Rooney dived a bit, that penalty should not have been awarded but anyway Sol Campbell fouled Ronaldo in the penalty area later on and a penalty kick was not awarded. So it roughly balances out lah.. haha!
Player that caught my eye, the Argentine player who looks like Stuart Pearce. No, not Stuart Little the mouse.. nevermind!

Wow, so late already, time to hit the sack.. sleep is important... (kindly imparted to me by BFSW)

A case of the brain not working in the lab..

Perhaps its because the lab's temperature is too cold already and then the brain ceases to function. So the conversation starts something like this..

ZR: Hehe, time to print notes (he proceeds to use the lab's laser printer to print his own notes)
JK & RH proceed to suan him..
Me: Hehe.. looks like I'm not alone.
ZR: hai... too bad 我不是映钞票的, if not 我就买laser printer 在家里映了.
Me: *thinks hard over the last statement* Huh? If you can 映钞票, 还要映notes for what?
All of us: Wahahaha!

Crass 95..

I'm sure most of you know there's a radio station called Class 95FM. I've been listening to Mark Richmond on his show, Car Tunes and he is such a corny and lame DJ. (He beats me hands down..)

So there's this little jingle for his show and it goes..
Japanese lady's voice " I listen to Mark Richmond on car tunes, he looks like a Japanese actor..
He.. looks like Takeshi's backside.. "

Hahaha.. never fails to make me laugh with that heavily accented Japanese lady voice. LOL

Gol..

Giggle out loud? Er.. hmm.. Jerry Ong is out, in my humble opinion justice has finally been dealt because he does not look like an idol, does not sound like an idol, and he doesn't behave like one as well.
Forever smiling and beaming.. a bit kuku already ah? I don't get the impression that he's serious about this competition at all. Anyway he's out and I suppose next to go might be Christopher Lee? His "假音" also a bit c-m-i liao ah.. how do you say that in English? Falsetto?

Finally completed the bleddy Geography project and I handed it up today. I did ask him if he wanted to file it (binding did not cross my mind) but he said he got marks deducted previously for filing his project because the lecturer found that leaving comments was difficult. So.. I stapled it. *cross fingers + toes + eyes*

There are also juicy news concerning AZ and our beloved lecturer D. Apparently during Thursday's tutorial session, a few of my friends and AZ attended it. AZ being super smart and well ahead of the rest of the group, has naturally completed the tutorial perhaps.. 3 semesters ago. While the rest were struggling, somehow this guy M was arrowed to solve a question.

So M either volunteered or was arrowed up and problem is.. he got stuck on the question. According to 'reliable sources', hehe.. D also a bit sian 1/2 so he just sat down and looked at M try to solve. In the meantime, AZ was getting impatient so she started to "help out" M. So it goes that M would write something wrong and AZ would go like "divide by h-bar lah..." or "negative sign" or even better.. "divide by i lah, wahlau!"

My source even typed out the "wahlau" in CAPS and he stressed that it was because of the sheer volume of the "wahlau".

Moving on.. but still same topic haha! Had lab today with the greatest lab partner JK. We joked about the "AZ" incident after our lab for quite some time and to an extent that it started to disgust us. Gross.. for a while I thought we were in Bird Park because of the sheer number of mynahs that were zooming over our heads. I think they must have caught the trailer for Pearl Harbour.. its screening this Sunday and Monday on channel 5 just for Henry's info, haha!

Went home, had a 14 minute jog, wathed fear factor (they ate slugs..)and Singapore Idol. Which brings us back to the point that JERRY ONG IS OUT! YAYEE!

Thursday, October 14, 2004

Singapore Idol...

Seriously if there was a line to vote people out.. and it cost $5 per vote.. I think I might "support" Jerry Ong..

Zzz his voice is really not a fantastic voice lah.. but its like machiam the radio transmission not clear got a buzzing tone in the background. For signallers.. hehe backtone heard = handset working properly? H-734 or dunno what I forgot the model of the handset for 900-series.

Anyway, I start to wonder if his fans are.. paid or what? For last week, he was in the safe group somemore. Today's performance, he sang the Barry White's classic.. yes the one you hear quite often in Ally McBeal. -_- I think a bullfrog croaking might have sounded more sexy than him man.. but ok lah at least I'm not a huge fan of Barry White haha. Food for thought: Barry White is a black? Haha..

Oh man getting super crappy after I spent the whole day doing Geography Geography Geography. I also found out that I have a problem typing out the word "fabric" fast.. it always comes out as frabic.. I think its because "f" is very close to "r" then somehow I keep on making the same mistake. Anyway I am super glad that for the first time in my life, a project is going to be submitted early. For other "happy"(read:gay) reasons, I am glad that this project is going to end. I must however give my project partner ample credit for being a master of bombastic words.

Example..
Fact: Quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.

Me: Quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.
Him: The fleet-footed two-tone brown fox sailed 12 feet over the lazy "man's best friend".

Haha ok that's exaggerated but his vocabulary is really better than mine. Oh well back to writing the appendix.. tomorrow will have to meet him hopefully for the last time.. zzz

Literary literature

Just read some .. inspired poetry from Charles, my JC classmate. What lush vocabulary and bombastic(spellcheck by J.. :p) words I could never think of..

Speed of pain

and guess what.. he got the same grade as me for GP hee!

GAHH!! GET AWAY FROM ME YOU !@)@!#()&%^@!#

Me: i kind of intro lor.. tell the lecturer that we must probe into the history

Him: i am going to roughly type the outline now

Him: give me some time dear

Me: dear??

Him: hehe

Him: i mean deer

Him: muhaaaa

Me: anyway i was typing and realised kampong glam itself and the allocation of malay-muslims might have nothing to do with the project.. might be irrelevant

Me: not funny..

Him: ????

Him: u huh

Him: no sense of humour one

Me: i'm sry i dont take humour in those kind of jokes

Him: ?????

Him: it's just a normal kind of exclamation!!!!

Him: haiz

Him: no wonder they say arts and science pple are different

Him: u hear this all the tiome(time) in arts

Me: sorry i have lotsa arts friends but that hasnt happened b4

Retarded notes..

Not say I want to say but I cannot help but say it lor..

Frickin' 1st line of the ODE notes already got a glaring mistake.. I don't care if the lecturer is from China, India, Pakistan, Swaiziland or Somalia.. its just retarded.. ughh

Differential equations are very where in physics.

Huh? Differential equations are everywhere in physics you mean.. or could it be.. differential equations are VERY RARE in physics..(haha cannot be lah..)

-----------------------

Had an early dinner at somewhere near Katong today, its actually along Still Road. Dad and my oh-so-arrogant cousin treated us to chilli/black pepper crabs today. Apparently that place is so bleddy famous that the queue was about 10 persons long at 5pm sharp~!!! So you can imagine at 6pm the crabs were SOLD OUT! Wah lau.. bleddy hell.. I wonder.. what the 20 people in the queue are waiting for anyway since they are LOOKING at all of us devouring crabs like mad.. haha!

Super sinful day.. but ok lah managed to squeeze in a summary of my geography project, I shall go and continue to do some more research on Arab Street now!

The physicist in everyone..

Watching webcast now, the lecturer was talking about Temperature and Precipitation and in his notes he uses T and P.
Hehe, halfway through his lecture he said, these variables, temperature and pressure are very important in describing the weather and climate.

Hehe, for me when I see P or T or both, I see pV=nRT don't you?

I am so touched he actually used the word physicist, not physician.. during a brief description of the absolute temperature scale..

wahaha slacker inside physics lab.. can see all the poor zombies around me.. actually only 1 lah and she's the lab demo that "cheered" for pikachu when I played "pika-volley" on my laptop.. -_- Posted by Hello

Uh uh uh ..

Starting to feel a bit kanchiong already because I'm lagging behind in all 3 of my core subjects.. Well its good that I'm feeling kanchiong but bad that I'm lagging.. duh~
Basically I have 3 core physics modules.. 1 of them is the "difficult even by Richard Feynman standards", Quantum Mechanics... Why do I find it difficult? There are quite a number of reasons, but some of them are..
The lectures are 8am lectures.
I'm always late for the lecture if I go.
If you go late, Dagomir has already started scribbling his mad equations.
If you don't manage to copy down his mad scribblings, you are going to lag.

Another module is Li Baowen's Maths Methods in Physics. Ok, at first it was relatively ok but some new stuff that he has been teaching is really.. he teaches at a very fast pace in my opinion, his tutorial questions don't even vary in difficulty, its either super easy or super tough.. His notes are not too useful in my opinion either, they are all textbook formulas..

Last module is Experimental Physics, thankfully for CO, we started the module a little earlier compared to others.. so now its still looking not as gloomy. Downside is I haven't cleared my lab reports yet so really need to organise my time properly and clear them quickly if not my Geography project and Life sciences module might suffer. I'm kinda depending on these 2 to help me this sem..!

Now actually a bit garang for these 2 modules, hope I can keep it up and that bloody Geog. partner better know his role.. lol! Btw, did I mention that his MSN picture(geog proj. partner) is a ultra un-appetising pic of him almost naked.. its like the camera is top and it takes a shot of him wearing nothing but his briefs. JESUS CHRIST.. MY EYES!!! ARGHHHHHH

Frickin shagged

Today was really "move your lazy ass" day for me. Woke up at 8:25, supposed to meet PC around his house at 9am but I decided to concuss a while more until it was 8:50 then I called him to tell him I just woke up.. ermm.. hehe~

I would come to regret going over so late later because when we finally started running after a weird breakfast consisting of a single plain roti prata.. the weather was fricking hot .. it was positively raining UV radiation.. but anyway we started running from somewhere behind SOS till the Chua/Choa Chu Kang stadium there.. and we made it to a neighbourhood park. Jesus, we made it there and the total distance covered, PC reckoned was about 3km. I could already hear a multitude of different noises my body was telling me.

Legs - "stop..."
Lungs - "Berhenti!!"
Throat - "我要死掉了!"
Neck + Chest + Abdomen - "yamete!!!"

Even along the jog, the crazy hardcore still can manage to think about weird stuff, too weird to explain here. Haha! Anyway we walked back to his house from there because our muscles had already cooled down (read: I was lazy and tired) then I went to his house to wash up and then we went to Lot 1 for lunch and that was basically my Sunday because I was super tired after that.

-------

Zzz talk about being lucky, I was having dinner at a coffeeshop near my place and before the food had arrived, some fricking bird decided it needed to LS and somehow the bomb landed piak on my plate. Ta ma de.. sibeh heng man.. at least I haven't started eating , if not I would have bowed my head down and it wouldn't be the plate that the crap was piak-ing on..

Until the next blog, I'll pray for better luck...~

The men don't get it..

Some things are just so frustrating when you don't understand or interpret wrongly what the other party is trying to express..

Anyway thanks Henry for listening me out.. for a person who sleeps less than an hour a day, sorry to share my troubles with you.

Back to mugging days

Had a session with best buddy Beng at Central Library a few days back.. haha. Not bad at all, I thought the session was quite productive, at first I was stuck in the stupid Maths questions but I got past it (read: I abandoned the subject) and I switched over to study my LSM1302 module for which I have a test on Monday.

Along the way, his classmates left discussion room 4 and then we went in to occupy it. However, the room was so silent that it actually caused a ringing sound in our ears due to the air pressure of the room. To alleviate our suffering, I hurriedly played mp3s at low volume before we proceeded to study more.

Hehe, at one point I don't know how it got started but we started to recall stupid stuff that happened during army days, some of which are really disgusting and will totally destroy a certain dinosaur's reputation here.. wahaha! Anyway we were trying not to laugh our heads off in discussion room 4, stifling our laughter was really tough when you got buddies like Beng, telling me a range of jokes concerning soluble bears to million dollar questions. Actually the million dollar question was from another friend. I think from the way Beng reacted, it was worth 2 million.. wahaha!

Went to Chinatown yesterday to buy mooncakes for J's family, a box of 8 snowskin mooncakes @ $10.80 seemed quite cheap to me. Plus, they looked cute especially since they were small-sized so we grabbed 2 boxes. I guess you get what you pay for, although that night when we sampled some it seemed ok to me and J. Her mother said it had a weird taste to it.. oops.. (minus 120938 points already..)

Oh man I'll sign off for now, still thinking about a particular joke that Beng told me that had me laughing in a frenzy I have not been in for like ... 6 months? Haha!

Memories..

I wished her a happy birthday yesterday one year ago. Yesterday TT msg-ed me something like "still up so late?"

She was offline before I could reply but.. I remember but I choose not to acknowledge anymore. I hope she never gets to read this anyway. For a C+ rank friend, I do not expect anything from her anymore, I hope the feeling is mutual.

Bad day.. but not so bad

It started when I checked my NUS email.. I had previously emailed to my "Mathematical Methods in Physics" lecturer to ask him about some stuff that I didn't understand in the textbook.

Here's the original email I sent him.

Dear Sir,

1. With reference to Mary L Boas' textbook page 308 equation 5.3, why is the integral of sinmx = [expimx - exp (-imx)] / 2i ??

2. Why is exp ikπ = exp -(ikπ) = coskπ ?

Generally a little confused about expression of sine and cosine terms into complex exponential form. Please advise! Thank you!

TS

Here's his reply..

I think you forgot almost everything you learned in high school (or JC).

sin(x)=(exp(ix)-exp(-ix))/2i

cos (x) =(exp(ix)+exp(-ix))/2

and

exp(ix) = cos(x) + isin(x)

These are called Euler formula.

If you have difficult in this formula, you should work harder. These are very elementary things.

******

I mean, thanks dude I so needed that reminder you fucking piece of smartass trash. And wow, you basically re-typed everything I asked you about. No wonder you told the class that the 打包 rate for this module is high. Of course man, with you around who needs teachers? Whatever mood I had for the day, he totally crushed it. Fucking asshole, so smart then GO HOME LAH... why come here and use our taxpayers money and do your stupid pointless half-million research so that soldiers can be cooler during wartime? Retard..

Thought of gathering the Buangsters for supper so I msg-ed all of them and initially the response was good. Then I totally forgot Hardcore was coming over to my place to get some mp3s from me so that's strike 1.
Strike 2, I didn't msg J the time so yeah she kind of waited for quite long with her friends.
Strike 3, I had to use my mother's phone to msg J and other Buangsters, conjuring a huge mother-of-all-messes...

I swear this is the last time I'm organising supper.

Yahoo!

QM test was a disaster.. I've never handed in an answer script that was any less blank than for this test. Hai.. thinking back even if I studied any harder it wouldn't be of much use unless I took a lot of hardcore Maths modules. Totally sickening, stupid Dagomir..

At least its the holidays now, a good time to catch up on readings, do projects, prepare for quiz and tests as well as to write up lab reports... seems like a lot to do already, did I mention holidays? Oops, more like mid-term break...
Already it is Monday, Tuesday is set for roller-blading with Beng & co. WOOHOO?!
Hopefully the turnout(whoever he is jio-ing) will be good. Can't wait to see Ivan or Ducky try their hand at blading haha, oh and of course must see how much my best buddy has improved mah.. haha

Been working like mad for this past weekend and I haven't studied at all. Totally bored and oh yeah Allan Wu and Li lin came to my dad's stall to eat ngoh hiang on Saturday.. haha so exciting always got celebrities come to eat. Allan Wu's torso is .. er.. very bulky but thankfully well defined. I saw Li lin's pregnant tummy already I think she should be giving birth quite soon?

Oh yeah I'll upload the pic of the $10 jumbo prawn mee that I ate on Saturday soon.. hehe make you guys salivate!

Fun links

Actually its just a blog lah that I think has been set up by guys to share silly army stories some of them are actually quite incredibly funny.

Singapore army stories
This.. I will link permanently, Hai~Ren has already joined them as a contributor but I guess he's too busy with his own work for the time being to contribute anything in substantial amounts.

Right, back to QM, I am "perpetually distracted" also. (Taken from GX's MSN nick..)

Boring..

Evidently Blogger is unable to save drafts of blogs.. at least that's the case for me. Now I'm in the semi-crowded science canteen aka "Frontier" for I don't know what silly reason might be.. Science frontiers? Silly Ong WK only finishes his lessons @ 1130 earliest so I am like trying to stop my stomach from digesting itself while waiting for him..

Just went to check out this link that good buddy Nick sent me a few days ago, which was a blog. I must say the content of the blog is certainly controversial at least, well you judge for yourself.
Jaime's adventures
I won't be linking it permanently on my site cos I think.. the language and content is a bit perverse, boring and borders on being sexually retarding. Ok I think she's just a tad too crazy..

Got some help from CO today regarding QM... now I understand a little bit more stuff regarding those stupid kets and bras. I will force myself to study later with Ong WK for the upcoming QM test tomorrow.. in the Science Library I presume. Hope that nobody's there which is totally impossible, hope there are nice window seats.. haha!

10 more minutes before that bugger comes, I'm almost 2-dimensional already ... zzz

Gah!

Due to my elder sis having to use the car today for the purpose of work, I have to revert to taking public transport. Woke up amazingly at 0630 hrs today without much fuss even though I only had at most 4 hours and 17 minutes of sleep according to my Siemens SX1?

Managed to set off from home together with my younger sis and we walked from Cashew Road to Upper Bukit Timah Road where I took 963. Frickin hell, I was praying there would be a seat so that I could take a snooze hehehe but too bad, it was initially un-crowded relatively but as time wore on more and more people boarded the bus and I am quite sure I saw an Indian colleage "Aunt Minah" I think... who was my "colleague" or so to speak during my short "stint" as a clinical chemistry assistant technician at NUH. Guess she didn't recognise me anyway :(

Dagomir is talking about some Schwarzer Inequality now and once again the burring sound of the air con is very very loud.. haha. Ah Zhuai was a little late, but oh yeah, she's copying notes down furiously together with the other members of the lecture group. So yeah, its time for me to pay attention already!

Monday, September 13, 2004

Uh uh uh

Now in lecture, its the break now and I don't quite understand what's going on but I'll just copy down everything I guess. Punctually late as usual though :p

Hehe read from BFSW's blog that her chalet had a few "interesting" events ah.. sounds totally moronic to me and J though. With people like **, who needs friends? Haha~! Oh well thankfully I wasn't invited?

Important events this week would include the on-line assessment for LSM1302, test for PC2130 and... I have to wash Scooby? That's it for now will blog more in future I hope

Frickin blogger...

Simply refuses to save my entries as a draft, I like to do it like this so that I can edit them later on without publishing them in a .. half-hearted/finished state...

Day started off waking up late for my 8am lecture as usual, somemore its QM by dear ol' Dagomir, can't make head, body nor tail of what the fish he's talking about 99.999999% of the time. Anyway when I finally got onto Bus C, I think I fell asleep within 20 seconds of stepping aboard, totally knocked out and I only managed to open my eyes occasionally. Reached the LT at around the usual time and this time I was the latest amongst the Milvus guys.. haha.. not the first time though.

Dagomir was already way into his own world, oops.. I meant his world and "ah zhuai's" world...
Already the whole class (Him and Her.. ONLY) were in a heated intellectual exchange! Right, the whole LT was freezing and stoning, with the exception of those who could catch what Dagomir was talking about..

After that was tutorial which turned out to be actually quite fun with the Prof or A/Prof Li Baowen who has one of the better commands of the English language among the Chinese lecturers that I know of. Haha, he's frickin loaded man, 2nd target to kidnap in Physics department after Prof Frank Watt? Lol.. He got awarded 1/2 a million to do research for some heat conducting crap so that it MIGHT prevent servicemen from getting heatstrokes in future.
My solution? Stop pampering kids so much that they can't live without air-conditioning, and.. the all time favourite classic legendary... water parade. Hehee..

Think I'll upload some photos ..zzz

Thank goodness

My day was saved by..
1. Meeting Dr Lee YH (aka 4everiver) shortly after my lecture..
2. Meeting J @ Clementi for an early lunch.

Hehe, Dr Lee has unabashedly posted one of the cockiest entries yet.. Check it out.
Nope there is no link provided, haha its on the left, lazy bums~!

Irritating neighbour (frickin blogger u watch out..)

GAH at first I type until so nice.. nevermind..

Singapore Idol

Haha I just spotted a name that made me reel in laughter, ok lah its mean so I shouldn't say it here hehehee!

Pc Lee msg-ed me out of the blue and asked me if I was watching Singapore Idol. I said yes and asked him why, and he said I sounded better than that guy to which I replied.. who was he referring to? Haha and he said Christopher Lee the guy who got through this round!

I told him that singing in KTV and singing on stage before a live audience is a different thing but he kind of insisted that I sounded "anytime better "
Hehehe PC Lee you "look me too up" already lah!

Anyway recently got a msg on MSN from one of my C-rank friends .. (I just downgraded him/her down from B-rank because of obvious reasons you will see..)
Anyway the message was to ask me for a favour on a particular weekend but the part that kind of made me reject helping out was that he/she's very first msg was to ask the favour from me already, somemore we seldom talk already so I thought it was kind of awkward, all of a sudden ask me to help. Wouldn't have minded helping IF he/she didn't ALWAYS come and talk to me ONLY when he/she needs help.

Oh well, don't care I could use that time for 10293576123 better other things!

Curfew

If I am going to do better this semester, I should set myself a curfew, a sleeping curfew to be exact. I think I will set it at 1am for now I'll try hard to follow it so that I can wake up in time for the frickin-hell-inhumanly-timed 8am lectures.

Went to meet Jay and her friends, ok they are my friends as well so we went to meet our friends for a late night coffee/tea/talk crap session. Ended up in Holland V and something .. worth mentioning happened. The shop was called Essential Brew or Brews.. anyway if you want to sit upstairs you have to remove your footwear and the place is designed in such a way that.. ok this might be incorrect but the first thing that came to my mind was this looked like ...
1. An opium den
2. "Traditional" Japanese living room

I should try to explain myself further.. when I went upstairs the first thing I saw was this guy with long hair, his fringe was all over his face, it was almost covering his eyes and he was slouching so low against the wall he was almost horizontal. I almost thought I saw an imaginary opium pipe in his mouth but ok I was hallucinating or something.. wahaha!

The furniture was all meant to create a cosier environment in my opinion although it would inconvenient ladies in skirts in general like J for that night. Basically you sit on the floor, they give you a cushion to rest your butt on and the table is also a low table so it roughly resembles the "traditional" Japanese living room I suppose.

But that's not the highlight, apparently after some time our friend Sia noticed with her.. acute sense of smell that someone around us had a case of .. tadah! Athlete's foot! Ok lah, it was just a "horrigible" smell.. gross! Did I mention I had the honour of catching a small whiff of the posionous, odourous vapour emanating from some other guy/gal's beautiful "10 digits"? Somehow Sia has a really good sense of smell (unfortunate in this case though) so she detected that the foul, acrid smell was drifting from.. A GIRL! GAH!!!

Ok, and supposing that she's right about that, the girl was apparently dressed to kill.. her clothes were semi-translucent or something like that, I didn't get much of a look though because she was behind me and.. facing her would mean facing the odour too.. wahaha! Well that would be a total turn-off for her date for that night or her friends.. gross!

To help fellow readers with their stinko foot problems, may I recommend some nice products to take good care of your feet...

1. The almighty PUMICE STONE, you can get it from Watson's I suppose or Body Shop for that matter. Its a godsend for anyone who wants... to remove dead skin and gross stuff from their feet. I don't have a foot fetish or anything but the feeling of freshly, clean n squeakily scrubbed soles is really quite shiok. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, its just an abrasive stone that you scrub against your feet, damn shiok. Highly recommended for all humans!~

2. Foot scrubs, available as a gel like substance, packaging is similar to facial wash types. Supposedly after using them your feet feels smooth and soft but I tried my sister's once and I didn't like it because it left an oily feeling on it. Oh well she told me she soaps off the oily feeling and its shiok but I didn't try it again..

3. Foot powder. In my opinion, SAF foot powder doesn't help, using baby powder like the Kodomo brand (my favourite) really gives your feet a smooth feeling. Just don't fall down! Don't use Snake powder on areas of your anatomy where you are going to sweat by the way, because from past experience a vile odour will result from mixture of sweat + snake powder. Its just like sweat and perfume don't mix..

Right, Professor Footy gotta go and rest now for tomorrow Quantum mechanics lecture where I will attempt to increase the strength of lecture group to 3! Namely, the lecturer A/Prof Dagomir Kazlikowski, "Ah Zhuai", and myself.

Oh, to the Sleepy Walrus, hope you find luck in love(you prolly heard this 12395123 times already..) but well, I'm sure the wait will be worth it. Keep in contact!

Should I or should I not?

Just wondering whether I should join a CCA club for the fun of it, because PM Lee said that education isn't only about academic results which I totally agree with. Partly also because I bumped into my former BSO (not the evil one..) Chen Zhihao and he's in the rock climbing club or whatever you call it. Not that I'm starting to miss getting lost in Pulau Besar already but well at least its better than joining a whole CCA alone?

Heard that they gather on Thursdays and Saturdays to "climb rocks" or rather those walls... sounds interesting man anyone wants to join or not? Hehe.. anyway Zhihao's blog is linked from mine Zeus' Garden

Oh and I must proclaim I am the ultimate "bag destroyer".. The birthday gift that BFSW, Jay and JL gave me, which was 2 bags, one of which was a nice Jack Wolfskin bag was damaged or rather one of the straps snapped somehow while i was at engineering faculty. Thankfully I was on the way home.. in the end, we went back to Queensway to see if the bag could somehow be repaired or not but the shop owner decided to let me choose another bag. That was a free 1 for 1 exchange which was quite generous of him I thought...

I picked another Jack Wolfskin bag which I thought was quite nice and I used it for some time but due to the weird "cutting" and design of the bag I found out that actually although the bag is quite big, you can't really stuff a lot of things inside it compared to the older bag. So I think because we went for a number of trips to Malaysia and the like.. I had to stuff my luggage into it and in the end the bag gradually suffered small holes, cracks, scratches, tears.. etc

Argh.. so now the bag has 2 ... holes, 1 is the one with the zipper, the other one runs exactly parallel to the zipper *wtf...* and that means, even if I zip up the bag, there is an equally big gaping hole where i can just reach in and take my stuff. Gah!!! Now I have to use either the ..

1. "adolescent" billabong bag that the army guys gave me which is super useful + functional (has a laptop compartment?
2. or the other sling bag which also has a weird cutting but looks nice although it has low capacity..

Maybe I'll shop for a new bag soon :(

Friendster..

An old friend or rather, old classmate has requested to add me to his friends' list. Well well, I don't know why but I haven't approved it yet, maybe knowing that he is still waiting for me to approve him gives me a sense of ..? Is there a word for this? Haha, maybe its that I can deprive him the pleasure or whatever that I am added into his list. Duh.. or its the pleasure that when I log into Friendster I will always see .. "Oooo some new guy wants to add me into his list"

-_- whatever the case, I'll add him a couple of days later for no particular reason. Haha!

Just bought my n-th pair of Giordano jeans, I just realised that most, if not all of my jeans are from the bleddy kap-poh brand. Maybe I'll splurge on my first pair of Levi's jeans .. soon.

Just now I was telling J over dinner... the Christmas performance we (read: IVAN) put up during our army days, the one where he chased himself on the stage. Haha, too bad my pathetic memory has robbed me of the entire storyline... I only remember something about line-laying, a present from Santa (the wire cutter..) and majority of my memory was confused with Ivan's "round-the-mulberry-bush".

Haha.. we got a bleddy 1 day off for that man.. so frickin simple! WAHAHA trust me to think of such stuuuuppppiiidd ideas and still get handsomely rewarded. *song*

Oh.. yes! Yes aww Yes!!!

The feeling of squishing that irritating acne/pimple or whatever thing finally is really really damned shiok I tell you. Its because this silly pimple has been bothering me for days or rather weeks and this bloody oyster simply refuses to spit out the "pearl" inside.. I'm sure most of you guys have experienced this at some point of time.

Listening to Kevin Kern now while drinking Magnolia fresh milk, ahh really super shiok right now I can't stop grinning, yayee!

On the other hand, listening to PM Lee's speech, he has declared a 5 day week for civil servants, schools and army camps. @!)#(&)&$!@ what the.. ok lah to comfort myself I have already thought of this scenario...

Friday night..

Signal platoon "Oh book out loe, sibeh song ah!!! Woohoo can go home and bathe hot water liao!"

Uncle Nick "Eh HQ company fall in for briefing first, tomorrow Saturday nobody in camp so automatically everyone will have 1 more guard duty... and the first guard duty goes to... "

CPL Elmer "Day guards .. CPL TS Lee and CPL BW Soh!"

Me and Beng muttering "Elmer you GY kia.."

Elmer " Complex guards .. PC Lee and Chen Jianwen"

PC proceeds to stand up and show his 99% violence/hardcore/vulgarities ...

Just as Ivan/Henry proceed to sigh in relief...

Elmer "SGAD duty will be covered by Ivan and Henry.."

*CHIBABOOM... TERBABOOM...!!!*

Olympics loss

Awww.. we didn't even come close to getting a bronze medal in the end, poor Li Jiawei she made a lot of mistakes in her match against the very defensive Korean player. I could see that she was using the red surface for all her forehand smashes and her black surface for her backhand, if you noticed, the red surface was the one that had a "pimple" texture so it would render the powerful underspin from the Korean less effective.

At the point that I noticed, our fellow Singaporean was getting all her smashes in but after a while she seemed to lose steam and it wasn't long before she faltered into oblivion zzz. Hai~Ren msg-ed me soon after that expressing general disappointment and sadness (read: deep contempt and hatred for both North and South Koreans..)
Wahaha ok lah that's an exaggeration la!

I've resumed reading the book that Henry gave me and its really very interesting but I always read it only when I have totally 0 things to do .. or else I will play GB or something like that. The last time I read it was on Saturday on the way to her house she's Jay by the way. So on the way to Jay's house I was taking 187 and this uncle sits down beside me and I just start reading my book happily until the blardy irritating random uncle (IRU) started to take of his shoes and oh-so-kindly put his around-the-world-in-80-years feet up on the seats opposite us! Wah biang I don't mean to disrespect him or what but seats are for PEOPLE! Not for your feet you arse! Needless to say I immediately felt like getting a hacksaw for obvious reasons but all I did was to give him my dirtiest look but of course being the brainless arse that he is, he still don't get it and continue to happily exhibit his very fine specimen.

Grr.. totally spoiled my bus ride luckily that arse moved to another seat once the other side was empty and yes.. he did the same thing. Jesus.. how many gross people can you meet in this world? Fricking unlucky that common people have such selfish mindsets.. :(

On a brighter note, ... er.. my sister didn't wash the car but topped up the petrol. Yayee.. she had better, I'd rather wash the car than top up the petrol .. lol! Bear with it scooby.. you'll get your shower.. soon?

Back!

From nothing in particular, its been quite a long week at least for me.. seems like everytime I want to blog there are a million and one things better to do... well.. blame it on the lazy libra horoscope?

As for the big fat lie that I told my parents, it isn't actually a very serious life or death issue or .. like cheating their money of sorts, its a big lie in another dimension.. oh man my mind is so full of linear algebra stuff.. and I still don't know anything about it. In any case thanks for your concern Beng and JK.. :p I'm alright (duh..)

Recently met up with one of my friends and found out that he is currently having a hard time dealing with problems in his life. We went for a drive and yeah I learnt a lot about what has happened, and because of what has happened, what sacrifices he has had to make etc. Well friend I'll be there for you if you need help and try to look on the bright side of life! I'm sure things will turn out better in due time, things can only get that bad~?

Reading Henry's (aka Wind) blog, really brought back memories of the good ol' days.. NOT. To me if NS could be summed up in a line it would be.. been there, done that, your turn. Something like that I reckon but actually its much more than that, especially with the friendships that have been forged, ties that have been closely knitted, bunks and platoons that have bonded.. wait a minute am I starting to talk like LTC Lai already? Haha..

I do recall some moments that are etched in my mind forever, images of Chun Kiat setting up the command tentage with Sgt. Sunny barking orders, along with Kangwei and various other signallers. That was the very first outfield in a unit that I went to and I was a total newbie at that time. I could see pearls of sweat trickling down from Chun Kiat's cheeks, starting from somewhere obscured by his helmet and then rolling down to his chin before finally hitting the long grass beneath him. *drip* Yes and then Chun Kiat gave me a "sian ji bua/welcome-to-the-shithole-club" look.

The worst outfield I went to, don't even remind me.. grr! I was in the line team with Muthu, Jason贼神 and Ganesan看医生 together with Sgt. Willis and.. tadah! KELVIN LIM! We were basically idling in the army 3-tonner(truck) when the ever-so-popular BSO came up to find us. Already I was kinda scared of him because I had already heard quite a lot of stories about him from GX/Fruchee(who was my army buddy in the end, I stole him from Ducky hahha!)
So the irritating bugger gave us a task to do which is to lay a line (similar to telephone lines) and do various tiebacks the way we were taught at SOS (School Of Signals). Before me was Ganesan and being the blur bugger that he was both at SOS as well as 42 SAR(our present unit at that time), he naturally did quite a lot of mistakes and was fully rectified by BSO who taught him to get hs rifle out of the way before doing anything.

Now it was my turn and I turned around to grab my rifle from the rifle rack but my HQ36 rifle was not there so I started to panic and by then BSO was shouting and pressuring me "Hey TS, where is your bloody rifle? Taking your own sweet time right? Nevermind..." All you readers have got to understand that he bellowed this out in the most sarcastic manner possible and this only served to wreck my nerves even more being a "xin jiao" (new bird) where National Service in the army was concerned..
By then Ganesan had already climbed up onto the tonner and then he said something like "eh TS I took your rifle.."

Alright so I just grabbed mine from him and jumped down the tonner but BSO immediately shot me the dirtiest look I've ever seen and he proceeded to accuse me of.. "secretly exchanging rifles with Ganesan, trying to keep it out of his view" I swear I wanted to kick his balls and ram them back into his body with my precious HQ36 at that point of time. "The 2 of you go back and take 1 extra.." That was how I got my very first extra guard duty in the "oh-so-guns-ablazing-fugging-glorious-SAF" My comments? "pp... ppphhhuuuiii!

Bad days

I guess the lie that I told to my parents.. really came true.. sigh~ Why do bad days last forever..?

LSM 1302 starts tomorrow, see you in lecture Hai~Ren..

Back to school

Its the sickening feeling again, in the library now with lots of foreign students who are attacking the notes/books/notebooks with vigour worthy of a red bull...

The Quantum Mechanics lectures are getting really absurd, the rules of the kets/bras are totally senseless to me, and there is a new girl in the lecture group who is in Jingkai's words "zhuai..."
Laughs at every joke, answers all the questions, listens eagerly blah blah blah.. somehow she seems too smart for her own good but maybe I shouldn't judge too soon~

All thanks to CO, now I really feel like pontang-ing the first lab session because I already know what exactly we are gonna do later on, except for minor admin stuff that might come up or the recording of results etc.. meanwhile I shall read up a little on my newly bought textbooks, namely Mathematical methods in the physical sciences and Introduction to Quantum Mechanics.. did I mention they add up to a cool $75? @#($)&!@%#)(*&^*

Poor hammy

Hammy the hamster seems to suffer from some sort of ailment that prevents him from walking normally, he can't keep his balance and even I also felt a bit sad looking at him in this state..

Still kind of unused to this semester especially with this killer timetable, I'm quite sure I will start to skip some random 8am lectures.. even if I do attend I don't know if I can even dig in what the lecturer is gonna say with bleary eyes and an empty stomach.. :(
Coupled with the experimental physics module, this semester promises to be the worst one yet .. already the lecturer for Maths methods has remarked that the "ta pow" rate for that module is quite high so I'm quite sure I'm one of those that's going down if I slack at all.. Arghh

Might be getting a new handphone too due to some complicated chain of events that involve my sister's bf going to US to study. Before I end my short short post, thanks to Beng in advance for his notes! Getting tired already.. bloody 8am lectures..

Tuesday, August 10, 2004

Uh uh uh ...

Yes it has begun, the 3rd semester but come to think of it, assuming I'm gonna get the hell out of NUS in 3 years time then this is almost 50% there already.. listening to this morning's lecture was already tremendously .. uninteresting at best. Thank goodness the lecturer has a sense of humour though.

The killer was the timetable for Experimental Physics, twice a week you gotta go for 3 hour lab sessions not to mention you got to prepare by reading up the relevant topics and lab manuals which are commonly 20 pages long and such. There's still the lab report that you need to hand up thankfully with a "deadline" of 3 weeks which actually makes not much difference considering the 3 weeks you are moving on to the next experiment.. God!

Yes and I should go and start reading them now.. sigh!

Gawd..

Did I just mention 4 days ago that school is starting in 4 days time? Gah!
Singapore Idol proved to be.. a total laughing session.. I think its weird to laugh at fellow Singaporeans because you might just bump into them on the streets and just start sniggering uncontrollably.

Today was movie marathon, first off was Shrek 2, then Zoolander ( Don't even think of watching it), and then 13 going on 30. All movies were of fabulous quality and came from a .. secret source haha!

Funny, I didn't even think about blogging about National Day till I read other people's blogs.. maybe it has gotten too silly and bo liao.. the whole notion of a "nation". Must have been the readings from SSA2211 in my first semester that has deleted away all nationalism in me.. haha!

Normalisation condition..

Ahaha not that I want to say, but my first lecture tomorrow already includes this so I happened to read about it and yeah, refresh my memory for a while. Already the stuff inside sounds cheem, do I hear a collective sigh?

Went to watch the fireworks yesterday as well and boy, was it crowded. In the end I thought it was quite a nice display of fireworks but the human traffic there was obnoxious. After that we boarded bus 97 before the loop so we silly-ly sat in the bus and the loop took like 1 hour... -_-
Even walking the loop might have taken a shorter time as we found out. Luckily there was plenty of on-board entertainment to help us kill time.. the TIGER SHOW!!!

At Suntec this young couple who couldn't be more than 18 or 19 boarded the bus and came upstairs and took a seat which was relatively in front. Then the guy "nicknamed Tiger" started to comb the girl's (Kitty) hair which started to freak both of us out who were seated about 5 or 6 seats behind them. What came to my mind was the scene from "The Ring" where the Japanese lady combs her jet black, straight and silky hair in the mirror and looks directly at you. Spooky..

After a while Tiger starts attacking Kitty and oh my god that idiot isn't like giving her anything like small pecks or whatever he's giving her those super duper wet + passionate kiss lor! Wah lau.. -_- So yeah for the large part of the 1 hour we were looking at Tiger attacking Kitty relentlessly .. After the loop, when more people boarded the bus, it seemed like Tiger would finally realise they weren't in a Hotel 81 room but rather on a bus... but we were proven wrong again by our "young and horny" Tiger who simply found Kitty totally irresistable.. Hahaha!

Tiger continued to smooch her all the way from the Esplanade to Jurong Interchange... not continually lah of course.. small breaks included giving Kitty hug-of-deaths and more hairdressing sessions~ Oh man but kudos to him for entertaining the whole bus though...

The Notebook

Haven't read the novel before by Nicholas Sparks but the movie was quite nice in my opinion as most adapted-from-books movies are. I remember seeing it as a favourite book inside JL's friendster so decided to catch it. First time I've watched a "more romantic" movie anyway but in any case it is worth the money lah.

That's all for now... sore throat so I want to drink more water now. Byee

Incredulous, outrageous..

I was .. mortified when I saw the traffic conditions at Geylang a few days ago at night. Given the number of people eating there and the number of popular eateries opening there, the number of parking lots are just way too little for most of the general public. Drove around from Lorong 29 all the way till Lorong 1 and still could not see a parking spot, even the double yellow lines were fully parked. After countless rounds we still could not find a parking lot or find the 永和豆浆油条 so after some time I called my sister and she told me it was at Lorong 9. I looked at the road sign nearest to us and it said Lorong 19..

-_- "'

Moral of the story is, you can try your luck parking along Geylang road itself but if you find that its taking way too long I suggest you park somewhere further and take a long walk instead. Hehe, as to where I actually parked it was Guillemard Crescent but its quite far away. Have fun exploring.

I have a nice masterplan too hehe, that is to go cycling at ECP or blading or kayaking until its late then you rent a bicycle and cycle to Geylang via Fort Road which is actually quite near. (Remember the AHM route?) So, there won't be parking lot woes anymore but of course gotta take care of the bicycles and have to cycle back as well, obviously the even better plan would be to get a chalet!

Damned, why am I talking about all these when school's starting in 4 days time?

Correction..

It's been a fricking long day.. sigh I'd like to dedicate a song to myself. Bad days by Space.
If only BFSW was around she would suan me again and go "hur hur"

...

That's my mood right now.

Today was a damned long day, starting at 10am my dad woke me up without much effort because they were making such a din already. Then we went over to the old flat and started shifting tons of rubbish out including old books, my primary school recorder, old motherboards and even 2 surround speakers. The king sized bed in my parents' room would prove to be the bulkiest and heaviest and tiring-est piece of crap to ever lug to my present house though.

I was supposed to paint the house for the early afternoon so that I would be free to meet her for much of the evening but now all hopes have been dashed, or rather crushed. Now I am the bangladeshi worker doing lots of sai gang.

Sickening day.

Forgotten entries..

I still have not posted the entry I wanted to post about the Sun and I'm frankly damned sian about it liao haha..

Today was quite "happening".. first of all I got a shock when I started washing Scooby only to find there were quite a number of unremovable stains on its roof and bonnet and the boot as well. I totally freaked out and proceeded to polish the bloody stains off which took approximately 1 hour or less. The bad thing was most of the stains can't be removed so now Scooby is covered in small small black dots.. I'd like to call it a case of "smallpox" if i may!

Sickening stuff aside, I went for a run at last and yeah, totally cannot make it already. Ran to the unfinished road which was very nice, fresh air aplenty for fellow joggers, dog-walkers, old couples etc etc.. Tried to run 1 round along the unfinished road, to and fro took 3 mins 35 seconds. Tried running it for a second time ala "uncle nick" circuit training style.. with much determination and effort I cut it down to 3 mins 20 seconds.. I was surprised too.. hehe So well i reckon that stretch of road should be around 700 or 800 metres.

Today's dinner was fantastic in a very normal way... I also can't explain it. It was just plain beehoon soup containing fish, bitter gourd that wasn't really bitter, large prawns from the prawn supplier. Side dish was ngoh hiang though hehe.. Oh but the "star of the table" had to be the chilli padi + soya sauce..

*cue heaven on earth by .. who the hell sang it anyway? Forgot her name damned.. Yeah I remember now, its Belinda Carlisle! Anyway other songs of hers that I would recommend would be "Circle in the sand"(PC Lee favourite ..oo-la-la), as well as "Summer Rain"(Mambo night favourite).

Haven't done this in a while, posting lyrics of nice songs..
Like this..

Kimberley Locke - Without You (featuring Clay Aiken)

Never even thought to cry
When I heard you say goodbye
Never said where you were going
There's no laughter in the air
Only silence everywhere
And so much left unspoken

Since you've been gone
I haven't been the same
I wish that i could see
Who's to blame

Without you, where do I belong?
Without you, how can I go on?
And no love but yours will ever do
Tell me how am i supposed to live my life?
Without you

Was I lost in you and me
To the point I couldn't see
That what we had was dying
Now it's all that I can do
To see photographs of you
And stop myself from crying
I should learn to live without your love
Got so many memories
But it's not enough

Without you, where do I belong?
Without you, how can I go on?
And no love but yours will ever do
Tell me how am I supposed to live my life
Without you?

I feel helpless and, oh, so alone
Like I never felt before
You made me feel alive
But I don't remember what it's like anymore

Without you, where do I belong?
Without you, how can I go on?
And no love does what yours will ever do
Tell me how am I supposed to live my life
Without you?

Without you, where do I belong?
Without you, how can I go on?
Tell me how am I supposed to live my life
Without you?
Oh baby where do I belong?
Please tell how can I go on?
Without you...

Taeguki

If I'm not wrong its a NC-16 show.. well but PC Lee jio-ed me to catch the show with him so we shivered in the cold West Mall cineplex together.. and watched that wretched 2 hour +++++ movie until we almost had to take the midnight charge cab back home. Luckily for us, we caught the very last MRT then we walked home from the nearest LRT.

The movie was .. very forgettable as "another war movie" as I think because most of the time the plots are around the same. Some parts are gory, gruesome, bloody and I find that these movies like to use shocking, grisly images to stir up emotions in viewers which of course, makes me feel most repulsive haha..
Like there was a scene where the South Korean soldiers encountered a village where all the villagers have already been slaughtered and some of the bodies.. blah blah yada yada booby trap is set off and the bodies are blown up. That was by far the most gross scene in the whole movie.

I wonder what real war will look like, not that I want it to happen or want to be in it.. its just the curiosity factor, how come so many people fight willingly, knowing they will die. Why doesn't everyone just "dig a shellscrape, take cover and shoot from there?"
I wonder, in wartime, will the leaders we "take for granted" really be leaders, and will the men really follow their orders even if it means their lives are at risk..

Oh but I forgot to give the #1 politically correct answer for "If you had one wish, what would you wish for"

"world peace.."

Countdown ..

School's starting soon, maybe its a good thing, as all fresh semesters are, there's always the possibility of making new friends or enemies, ace-ing new subjects (or rather failing them..) , bitching about new idiots and arseholes and so on.

Have since decided to take the Geography GEM alone and another module with Ivan. School gets boring when you attend lectures all alone :(
Yeah, I'll make new friends I guess along the way.. hopefully smart ones that can help me haha~

So what have I done these holidays..? Bought a new jigsaw, framed the old one, bought a new wireless router, tidied (and messed up) my room, when for a couple of trips, went for my in camp training and yes... found a partner :p
She's enjoying herself in Bintan now, with her brother and her friends whom I've got to know over the past few days. Cheerful bunch of people I must say..

Oh and I must recommend to everyone who reads this.. the "all butter mintoes" from Marks & Spencer are really good although they are quite expensive @ $3.90 but since I kind of grew up on these butter mints, I consider it quite a good bargain plus the fact that I don't know of any other shop that sells this type of sweets. Sinful, sinfully good.. wahaha

Nothing much to blog nowadays, because of the fact that nothing much is happening.. maybe its time to psycho dad to buy a car haha.. or pay off the house loan!

I, Robot

Don't think I've mentioned it, but I've caught the movie for free already haha. We were at 's a giant cockroach ccb!
certain shopping centre in town area to watch Ella Enchanted which was a .. omg theres'

Ok.. where was I? Giant cockroach.. its dead now .. in case you guys don't know, I am super number 1 hater of cockroaches.. Oh yeah i was looking at the cockroach crawling on the hi-fi as I was typing so the above sentences are a lil' jumbled.. hehe i'll just leave it as that..

I was watching Ella Enchanted with her and after the show ended, we went out thru' the entrance and yeah we just conveniently hopped into another cinema... haha. Actually she pulled me in lah.. I wasn't so "heroic" but I, Robot was quite a good movie in my opinion. Catch it if you have nothing else to watch. I should rest now, the cockroach incident has wrecked my nerves..

Finally..

We've sold off our Bukit Panjang flat. For a cool $XXX,XXX.XX dollars only. Haha.. much of that money could go into paying off our house loan.

Yesterday night was totally crazy, first I met her at her house then having no exact plan to execute, I drove down to ECP and we took a stroll there and relived the moments where we met weekly for the silly batallion runs and the sickening feeling of running non-stop. After we overshot the parking coupon by 1 hour, we finally decided to head back... back to West Coast Park.. haha! The motive was that there was a 24 hour Mc Donald's restaurant there but in the end, it was 24 hours drive thru' only, the restaurant closed at 1am. Much to our disappointment apparently, after we discovered that only at 1:30am ++ and there was a human queue at the drive thru' so .. its really oxymoronic kind of thing. Hehe, I was thinking of Henry's post on silly American stuff a few months back, I thought only Americans did such dumb stuff. LOL..

Ok, no offence to Americans in general, only some, yes..

Anyway I've been working at my mother's stall these few days so its been rather packed. Haven't had much time to slack and laze around, which might be good for me I suspect. Oh yeah I wanted to blog about this, hehe its regarding some silly quotes from this Formula 1 commentator... I think his name is Steve Slater..

The real situation: Schumacher leads Button by around 9 seconds + .. but 2nd placed Jensen Button is closing the gap steadily at around 0.25 seconds per lap. There are 11 laps remaining..

Steve Slater: Mathematically, if Jensen Button continues at this rate, he will be able to finish before Schumacher at the chequered flag!

2  or 3 laps later

Steve Slater: Is this going to be enough to overtake Schumacher? I think not!

Me + elder sis : HAHAHAHAHHAHAA!

sigh

My post on snails and god-knows what else is gone... I have no idea how its gone maybe I didn't ever publish it or something. Sure hope it ain't hackers/crackers/cookies at work.. lol lame attempt at cracking a joke..

I was saying, I saved 3 snails the other night by not stepping on them. And the previous night I saved 4 others.. 7 snails saved :p Oh well but I did see about half a dozen cracked and squashed snails, together with their shells.

Ok that's about it because I totally forgot what I wanted to blog. Shiet man.. I remember I wrote quite a long one.. so long for now :(

Dear Science Students,
We would like to inform you that the Faculty has revised the CAP cut-off for honours eligibility downwards from the current 3.80 to 3.50. This will take effect for cohorts matriculated in 2002/03 and after. Please refer to the letter attached below for further details.

Er.. yay? Don't think I'll be doing honours anyway.. sigh

I am back~!!!

Hehe.. I see blogger has made some more changes to its template or whatever you want to call it.

Anyway I'm back from a trip to Genting/KL with the "Buangsters". Hope all you guys are still doing fine back in SG. The weather in Genting was really chilly, and most of the time my hands were freezing cold. Some highlights of the trip were..

In no particular order..
1. Watching the glorious Sun set in the west amidst cirrus clouds, ahh.. it was so surreal, and the rays of the Sun extended all the way along the horizon.. almost like a horizontal Aurora.
2. Realising that you're finally of the legal age limit and that you can enter the casino!
3. Enjoying 24/7 air-conditioner weather although it wasn't to my preference actually (due to my asthma)
4. Being among the clouds.
5. Shopping (more for the ladies though :p)
6. Catching moths in the hotel at 1 or 2 am because we didn't shut the windows.
7. Being blatant "illegal immigrants" in the hotel (7 people in 2 double rooms).
8. Watching King Arthur at $10RM.
9. Taking the cable car down from Genting.
That's about it for Genting..

KL's highlights are as follows..
1. Taking a rollercoaster ride. (it had a loop-the-loop!!)
2. Taking it a second time because we wanted to pose correctly at the camera so that we could purchase it.
3. Realising we didn't have money in the first place because Colin took all our stuff.. (Priceless..)
4. Shopping.
5. Shopping.
6. Shopping.
7. Eating random stuff @ KL's Chinatown.
8. Shopping.
9. Train ride back to Singapore.
That's about it for KL. Haha!

I must talk some crap regarding the points mentioned above.. for example King Arthur the movie. Read on for spoilers.. Whoever was the actor, Clive Owen I think, for starters I really thought his acting could have been better, even the Statue of Liberty could generate more decent facial expressions.. He had the same face when he was going to bed Keira Knightley, when Lancelot died, when he was doing everything... oh but when he wears a helmet he sure looks like Nicholas Cage.

I really thought he looked liked a mix of Luis Figo/Rui Costa anyway. If you don't know, both are professional footballers from Portugal. On the whole, I thought the movie was crap because it was a very incomplete movie. The storyline starts with Lancelot, then suddenly Arthur just appears. (Huh?) Then Merlin also plays a very small role in the movie, when the movie seemed to portray him as some other great sage with superpowers etc. My conclusion: The movie's storyline definitely doesn't do the real story any justice. I don't know the real story of King Arthur anyway but I know its a very condensed movie, too much for my liking.

One of my fears is .. a fear of those "extreme" roller coasted rides... and then it didn't exactly please me that we went to Times Square in KL, the largest shopping centre in maybe SEA or Asia.. not too sure about that. It did have a big indoor theme park though, supposedly largest in Asia anyway. Anyway after a heavy lunch of ... Bali Laksa I think, I went off with her to watch the rollercoaster in action. Oh man there was a corkscrew  before it ascended really high up.. then it went down a very steep section before going for the loop-the-loop. At that point, I could feel the laksa ascending up my throat too.. haha there were butterflies in my stomach.

In the end, after some apprehensive-ness (is there such a word?) or is it apprehension? I went to take the ride with her as well as TCS, JL, GX and Colin. Oh my the corkscrew was too fast to be felt but the loop-the-loop was really exhilarating. The acceleration was really very shiok and i was planted to my seat even though I was upside down. (mv^2/r > mg)  In the end we took it 2 times for the above-mentioned reason so it was a little silly haha! So in the end, it wasn't that scary after all. Maybe its because its indoors so you don't exactly get to appreciate how farking high up it was anyway! However, I must give myself a small pat on the back, haha although its a puny rollercoaster compared to the likes of Big Dipper etc..

Er.. will be going to school tomorrow for experiments, haven't prepared at all.. crap
